The
West Wiltshire Housing Society is providing its tenants with
secure, Low maintenance doors and the opportunity to choose
from a range of styles and colours after entering into a working
relationship with masterdor based on “The Partnering
Approach”.
The West Wiltshire Housing Society owns in excess of 5,000
properties located within five towns in the West Wiltshire
region. The Society has committed itself to replacing most
of the front and rear doors on 3,527 properties transferred
from the West Wiltshire District Council in March 2001. In
addition, the Society will fit new doors on its remaining
stock, as and when renewal is required.
The Society worked closely with its Tenants’ Programme
Focus Group (TPFG), to select the suppliers and contractors
to deliver the Repair and Improvement Programme, which is
expected to take between five and ten years to complete. The
Society Project Team consisting of Matthew Baxter, Property
Investment Manager, Peter Mitchell, Technical Team Leader
and Tracey Verduyn, Senior Investment Administrator, visited
a number of leading door manufacturers throughout the U.K.
The Group’s task was to select the best available product
and to seek out a door supplier with whom a ‘Partnership’
approach could be adopted, as outlined in the recent Egan
Report.
masterdor was awarded the contract, worth in the region of
£2 million, after sample doors were fitted in several
properties and other Housing Societies were contacted for
their views on doors manufactured by a variety of door suppliers
and installed at houses under their control. As a result of
this research, the TFPG were unanimous in their choice of
manse masterdor ltd as the preferred supplier of their doors. |
